“Love your Mumma Body!”
My name is Ashley, and I’m a mother to a wonderful rainbow baby. I’m also a Personal Trainer, with a focus on supporting my fellow women through their pregnancy journey and beyond. Training with me isn’t about getting your pre-baby body back, it’s about getting YOU back.
Before my pregnancy, I found a passion for health and fitness after working in the hospitality industry. I fell in love with the flexibility; the way I could adapt my workouts to how I was feeling that day. Exercising made me feel empowered, and it became a huge part of my life. I decided to become a personal trainer to turn this passion into a career, so I started studying.
I fell pregnant in May 2016 after suffering two miscarriages, and completed my PT course in June that year. My darling rainbow baby changed everything I thought I knew about life, and I can’t imagine our lives without him!
What I also discovered, however, was that there was a real lack of support for women, whether prenatal or postnatal. I’m lucky to have found some great support groups, but many women don’t have that. Motherhood, especially when you experience it for the first time, can be so daunting and isolating. Some mothers have no support network and lose themselves while looking after their children and spouse, often neglecting their own health, mentally and physically.
This is what I’m going to change with Mumma Body Coaching! Unlike other personal trainers, I focus on the prenatal and postnatal journey and all that goes along with it. It’s not just about improving your health, it’s about providing support and guidance in all aspects of motherhood. A lot of trainers don’t undertake the further education to effectively and safely train women during pregnancy and post-pregnancy. I believe strongly in continually educating myself and increasing my knowledge. I’m in the middle of completing my 3rd pre/post-natal qualification, and I’ve already got plans to complete other related courses in the future.
I also give advice and referrals to a number of different services, because I don’t pretend to know or be qualified in everything. I work closely with my local referral network which includes chiropractors, osteopaths, women’s health physiotherapists and myotherapist. I want you to have the best experience, and so I personally vet every person or place I recommend. For example, if you need breastfeeding support, I will give you the best numbers to call, and give you advice I’ve learned on my own nursing journey. Breastfeeding can be so tricky, especially with a lack of support, and I want to do everything I can to help women succeed!
Whether you want one-on-one training, or you want to work out with a mum friend, Mumma Body Coaching is here for you. I also have a child-friendly area set up, so you can bring your kids along while you work out!
I really believe in empowering women – I want a space that’s full of women lifting each other up. My goal is for MBC to become a tribe, a place for women to come and get the support they need that they may not find anywhere else!
As your trainer, I’ll work closely with you to achieve your health and fitness outcomes. I will help you keep a positive attitude, and a smile on your face, while giving you the tools to do so for yourself! Everyone can benefit from regular training of their mind and body – all you need to do is embrace your Mumma Body and get excited for the journey ahead!
